Yashin

I went to a farewell party for the head sommelier from Umu restaurant, Kumiko.
I've never worked with her but we've seen each other at tastings or she's looked after me when I went to UMU always. She is going back to Japan next month, after 8 years spent in London/France. For good.
昨日、UMUでヘッドソムリエとして勤めていたくみこちゃんのお別れ会がありました。
くみこちゃんとは一緒に働く機会がなかったものの、テイスティングではほぼ毎回顔を合わせ、私がUMUに行く時にはいつも良くして頂きました。今回、計8年間のロンドン/フランスでの生活を終え、日本へ帰り新しい挑戦が待っています。

The party was held at Yashin in High street Kensington.
Yashin is a new Japanese restaurant which opened about a month ago.
I bought a flower bouquet and went downstairs....
There was about 11 of us. Tachikawa san from Hasegawasake ten organized the food, also Kumiko chan arranged some wines she could not bring to Japan.
お別れ会は、最近Highstreet Kensingtonに出来た、Yashin というお寿司屋さんで行われました。
お花屋さんでお花を買って行きました。
テーブルを囲んだのは約11人。長谷川酒店の太刀川さんがお料理を決めてくださって、くみこちゃんが日本へ持って帰りきれないといって持ってきてくれたワインも少し頂きました。



We had such a good time. I couldn't talk with everybody but it was nice to have some familiar faces and new faces around. Also I've discovered someone has slept until 6 pm..., he was really funny.
おなじみの顔ぶれにも、それから新しい素敵な方々との出会いもあり、全員とお話しする事は出来ませんでしたが、あの方の意外な一面も知る事が出来たり、とても楽しいひとときでした。
