I love Kew garden.

Espacially in spring and summer time. There are so beautiful and I always think I whish I could live closer to such a amazing garden...
And I found this...

Seychelles Nut Palm

Coco-de-mer (Lodoicea maldivica) grows on only two islands in the seychelles. The enormous fruit takes 6 years to develop and can weigh up to 30kg or more, the same as the average television (not flat screen)... The fruit contains the unusual two- lobed seed which is packed with food reserves to sustain the germinating plant.
They are now protected in National Parks with all trade legally controlled.

７百万種以上の保護植物を栽培、展示するイギリス国内でも有名です。
秋や、冬も良いですが、私は、春と夏に行くのが特に好きです。行く度に、こんな庭があったらいいなあとか、近くに住んでいたらもっと頻繁に来れるのに…なんて思ったりもします。
先日、キューガーデンズでなにやら不思議なものを発見（写真上）。

koko-de-mer(海のヤシ、という意味らしい）は、セーシェル共和国の２つの島でのみ育つ。実が完成するまでには６年もの歳月を要し、重さは３０kgほどで、家庭用のテレビ（プラズマで無いもの）とほぼ同じ重量。実は、珍しい２つのローブがあり、発芽するのに不可欠な栄養素が含まれている。

食べられないんですね。
