We went through so many things... Party, party and party, Japanese night, films, sqweeze into small table and sip gin tonic from tea cup in china town at 4am, smoke shicha, drunk so much dodgy wine, tears and laughter....
We had such a great time together. But since we left restaurant it was not easy to see her anymore.
4 years later, on my birthday just couple of weeks ago, she send me a message and invitation for her work exhibition on facebook. I've decided to go to see her.
She hasn't change at all. Same height, same red hair, smiley cute face... I realised I missed her so much.
We couldn't talk much, but I was so glad to see her success.
Her work was amazing. I loved it so much. I know she used to do lots of graphic art but I've never seen her new style of art, it was completely different, and very unique.
I promised her to see each other again, and left the exhibition.
It was great night.
彼女は、私が５年前ロンドンに来た時に初めてできた友人です。
私たちは、その時働いていたレストランで出会いました。
それからというもの、いろんな事を共有しました。
パーティー、ジャパニーズナイト、映画、中華街の小さなテーブルに座って、湯のみから出されるジントニックを啜ったり、涙や、笑い、一緒に味わった安いワインの味…
私も、彼女も、その時働いていたレストランを離れた後は、以前のように会うのがとても難しくなっていました。
それから4年、先日私の誕生日に、facebookの私のプロフィール宛に誕生日のメッセージと、彼女の展示会のお知らせが送られてきました。
ちょうど休みだった事もあり、彼女に会いにいく事に決めました。
彼女は４年前と一緒で、何も変わっていませんでした。すらっとした背の高さも、赤い髪の毛も、ちょっと恥ずかしそうに笑った笑顔も。
私たちには、ゆっくり話せる時間がありませんでしたが、彼女の成功を観て、本当にうれしく思いました。私の知っている彼女は、グラフィックアートに力を入れていましたが、今回の展示会には私の知らない彼女の世界があって、それはとても斬新で、ユニークで、全ての作品が私にとっても、特別なものになりました。
私たちは、また会う事を約束して、家路に着きました。
いい夜になりました。
